Most lists of the best SEO agencies in Houston are paid placements dressed up as research. Agencies buy a slot, then rate each other on words like “passion” and “creativity.” That does not help a CMO decide who to trust with a year of budget and a pipeline number they have to defend to a board.
This ranking uses public data: agency websites, verified review platforms, published case studies, and industry surveys. Nine Houston SEO agencies are ranked by fit for B2B revenue, not by ad spend.
Short answer. The best SEO agencies in Houston are not interchangeable, and the right fit depends on what a company sells and who signs. For B2B companies with complex sales cycles, Enlimited ranks first. For industrial and manufacturing, TopSpot. For energy and enterprise, EWR Digital. For regulated verticals like legal and medical, Authority Solutions. For local Houston SMBs on month-to-month terms, Astoundz. All nine Houston SEO agencies, the ranking criteria, verified 2026 pricing benchmarks near $3,200 a month, and the AI-search-readiness checks used to evaluate each firm are below.
Disclosure. This guide is published by Enlimited, one of the nine agencies ranked. Every claim about every agency on the list, including Enlimited, is sourced from public data on agency websites, verified review platforms, published case studies, and industry surveys. Enlimited’s own numbers are published and dated on its public facts page so any claim in the Enlimited section can be independently checked.
How the best SEO agencies in Houston were ranked
Before comparing Houston SEO agencies, a buyer needs to agree on what “best” means for their business. Six criteria drive the order of this ranking, weighted by how much each one matters to B2B revenue.
Revenue impact. Does the agency tie work to pipeline, qualified opportunities, and closed revenue? Or only to rankings and traffic charts?
B2B and industry fit. Do they have real reps in the vertical: SaaS, fintech, legal, industrial, energy, or healthcare? Houston is a specialist town.
AI search readiness. Do they optimize for Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini, not blue links alone? This is the biggest shift of the decade.
Transparency. Do they publish pricing, methodology, and case studies with real numbers attached to real client names?
Local Houston depth. Are they Houston-based with a real office and a real team? Or a national brand renting a 713 number?
Team, tenure, and who does the work. Will the person on the pitch call still be on the account in month four?
Bring these six to any agency call. They separate the best SEO agencies in Houston from the ones with the biggest ad budget.
The best SEO agencies in Houston, one by one
1. Enlimited. Best for B2B demand generation
Best for. B2B SaaS, fintech, and law firms with deals worth $10,000 to $500,000 and sales cycles that run months, not days.
Snapshot. Launched as Alifmeem in 2013 at GITEX Dubai, moved US operations to Houston in 2016, and rebranded to Enlimited in 2020. Founded by Mohsin Ali. The team spans three continents and is organized by function rather than by client. Enlimited serves Houston clients as an official HubSpot and Google partner.
Why they earn spot one. Enlimited sells a Demand Engine, not a search retainer. A Demand Engine is a documented growth system covering positioning, demand generation, paid media, SEO and AEO, automation, and revenue reporting. SEO is one channel inside it, not the product. One rule governs the order of work: nothing scales until attribution works. Tracking is wired before a dollar of spend gets scaled.
Published proof. Worldpay: 26,400 qualified leads, $7.9M in pipeline, $6.7M in closed accounts, and cost per click down 53% over 18 months. Guidance Residential: cost per lead down 62%, with ad spend scaled from $15,000 to $100,000 a month because the returns justified it. Quantal Security: ranking keywords up 220% in six months from a standing start. Konica Minolta: 2,400+ partners certified across 112 countries. Agency-wide, Enlimited reports 320+ businesses scaled, $55M+ in contracts generated for clients, 45,000+ leads delivered, and a 230% average ROI, dated on its public facts page.
Watch-outs. Not built for $500-a-month link packages, local plumber campaigns, or results inside 60 days. Buyers looking for a pure SEO retainer without paid media and marketing automation attached will find the scope broader than needed.
2. TopSpot. Best for industrial B2B and manufacturing
Best for. Manufacturers, distributors, and industrial suppliers selling to technical buyers who search by part number and spec.
Snapshot. Founded in 2003 at 515 Post Oak Blvd in Houston by Anita Perez and Dave Underwood. Grew from five founders to 130+ team members and 800+ clients over two decades, per TopSpot’s 20-year anniversary release. In June 2024, TopSpot was acquired by Ohio-based OuterBox in a deal both firms describe as a merger, adding UX and CRO, ecommerce, and email capacity per the OuterBox announcement.
Why they earn spot two. Industrial and manufacturing SEO depth is rare. Most Houston agencies chase local service businesses. TopSpot is built for spec-heavy catalogs and long cycles.
Watch-outs. They now sit inside a much larger national group. Ask who from the combined team runs the account day to day, and where the decisions get made.
3. EWR Digital. Best for energy, oil and gas, and enterprise B2B
Best for. Energy, industrial, medical, and professional services firms that want one partner instead of four vendors.
Snapshot. Founded in 1999 as eWebStyle, rebranded to eWebResults in 2017, and to EWR Digital in 2020, per EWR’s own history. Based on West 34th Street in Houston. CEO Matt Bertram is the majority shareholder, hosts The Best SEO Podcast, and contributes to Search Engine Journal. The agency serves energy, industrial, medical, and professional services accounts across North America.
Why they earn a spot. Houston energy-sector depth is hard to fake, and EWR has been here since the late nineties. They have also repositioned around AI search, which most legacy Houston shops have not.
Watch-outs. Enterprise pricing and enterprise process. A $2M revenue SaaS company will likely find this more agency than the stage needs.
4. Astoundz. Best for Houston SMBs that want no long-term contract
Best for. Houston small businesses that want a local full-service shop with month-to-month terms.
Snapshot. Founded in March 2016 by Steve Winter with MLB Capital Partners, at 4501 Brookwoods Drive, Houston. Team size sits in the 10 to 49 range. Their DesignRush profile carries 4.9 stars across 100+ verified reviews, and Astoundz publicly claimed a Top-10 national SEO ranking in February 2026. They market a first-page guarantee and month-to-month terms.
Why they earn a spot. They rank consistently for the head term “houston seo company” in local Google SERPs and hold a top-10 national SEO position on DesignRush as of February 2026. Month-to-month terms are a real differentiator against annual retainer shops. For an SMB deciding between a 12-month lock-in and a monthly commitment, that alone is worth the discovery call.
Watch-outs. Read the ranking guarantee carefully. A first-page promise is a promise about a keyword, not about pipeline, and in B2B those are not the same thing. The client base also skews SMB rather than complex B2B.
5. Regex SEO. Best for custom strategy over templated retainers
Best for. Houston companies that want a plan built on their data instead of a Bronze, Silver, and Gold package.
Snapshot. Founded in 2016 by Dmitrii Kustov, based at 4801 Woodway Dr in Houston. Team size sits in the 11 to 50 range per LinkedIn. Kustov is a Forbes Agency Council member for several years running, with campaign work for brands including John Deere and Dignity Memorial cited on his Forbes Council profile.
Why they earn a spot. Custom is more than a tagline here. Their published intake starts with an audit of channels and market potential before anyone scopes a retainer, which is closer to how in-house enterprise teams work.
Watch-outs. A smaller team means a slower ramp on multi-market or enterprise programs. Ask about capacity before signing.
6. Authority Solutions. Best for legal, medical, and dental SEO
Best for. Regulated verticals like legal, medical, dental, and real estate that need SEO plus reputation management.
Snapshot. Founded in 2014 by Mitchell From in Houston. Team size sits in the 10 to 49 range with hourly rates of $150 to $199 per hour per their Clutch profile. They market a proprietary LOCALE audit process and publicly position around SEO for legal, medical, dental, and real estate, with reputation management bundled in for regulated verticals.
Why they earn a spot. Regulated verticals carry compliance and experience requirements generalists routinely miss. Authority Solutions has spent a decade inside them.
Watch-outs. Their pitch is SEO-forward. Buyers who also need serious paid media or marketing automation under one roof should ask about team depth outside search, and ask for law-firm references specifically.
7. Design At Work, formerly MARION. Best for legacy Houston brands in transition
Best for. Established Houston companies in traditional industries that need digital work alongside branding, PR, and print.
Snapshot. MARION was founded in 1981 and was one of the first Houston agencies to build websites and sell SEO. In June 2026 it merged with Design At Work and now runs under that name, led by former MARION partner John Anger, with more than 80 years of combined Houston marketing history.
Why they earn a spot. Few Houston shops do brand, print, PR, and SEO under one roof. If the board still expects trade show booths next to a technical SEO roadmap, that continuity matters.
Watch-outs. A broad service footprint means SEO is one line of many. Ask how many dedicated search specialists are on staff versus generalists who touch SEO between projects.
8. Funnel Boost Media. Best for local Houston lead generation
Best for. Local Houston service businesses that want SEO paired with paid search and a website built to convert.
Snapshot. Veteran-owned and a Google Partner, founded in 2012 in San Antonio by Ryan Duncan, with Jacob Dial joining as partner in 2017. They serve Houston through a dedicated local team. Their Clutch profile carries well over a hundred verified reviews, and their own profiles cite a Forbes listing among America’s best digital marketing companies.
Why they earn a spot. One of the strongest verified review bases here, and they sell generative engine optimization as a live service line rather than a slide.
Watch-outs. Headquartered in San Antonio, not Houston. Depth in Houston verticals like oil and gas or Texas Medical Center biotech may be thinner than a native shop, and their client mix leans home services, legal, and healthcare rather than complex B2B.
9. ITVibes. Best for The Woodlands and North Houston
Best for. Small and mid-market businesses in The Woodlands, Katy, Cypress, and North Houston needing a website, SEO, and custom software from one team.
Snapshot. Founded in 2009 by Siva Yenneti and based on I-45 in The Woodlands. Services run from web design and SEO through to custom web apps, workflow automation, and Workato implementations, across real estate, construction, healthcare, oil and gas, and nonprofits.
Why they earn a spot. The web plus SEO combination is useful when a company needs a new site and organic growth at once instead of managing two vendors.
Watch-outs. North Houston SMB focus. Enterprise B2B buyers downtown or in the Energy Corridor will find the client base too far from their own.

What changed in Houston SEO, and why it matters to pipeline
Three things moved since the last version of this guide, and they now decide which Houston SEO agencies are worth paying.
Search stopped sending as many clicks
When AI Overviews show up, SparkToro’s June 2026 clickstream study, using Similarweb panel data for January to April 2026, found 68% of US Google searches now end without a click to any website, up from roughly 60% in 2024 and 45% a decade ago. AI Overviews appear on more than 20% of queries, and click-through rates drop by close to 60% when they show. Separately, Pew Research analyzed real US browsing and found users clicked a traditional search result on just 8% of visits when an AI summary appeared, versus 15% without one, and clicked a link inside the AI summary on only 1% of visits.
Google said at I/O 2026 that AI Mode passed one billion monthly users, with query volume more than doubling each quarter. Similarweb data reported by iPullRank shows AI Mode generates referrals on only 1.6% to 2.5% of queries, versus 17% to 19% for traditional Google search. Only about 4.5% of AI Mode sessions end in a click, compared to 24% of Google search sessions.
Read that plainly. Visibility is moving inside the answer. An agency that still reports sessions as the headline number is reading a meter that no longer reflects reality. Ask how they track citations and branded search, not only clicks.
SEO alone stopped being enough for a buying committee
Gartner puts the typical B2B buying group at six to ten people, and finds buyers spend only about 17% of total purchase time meeting with all vendors combined.
The harder number comes from 6sense. Its 2025 B2B Buyer Experience Report, based on roughly 4,000 buyers who spent $25,000 or more in the last two years, found that 94% of buying groups ranked their preferred vendors before they contacted a single seller. Those buyers ultimately bought from the pre-contact favorite 77% of the time, and 95% of winners were already on the day-one shortlist.
That reframes what SEO is for. Ranking is not the goal. Being the name a committee already trusts before anyone fills out a form is the goal. Ask each Houston SEO agency how their content reaches the finance person, the technical evaluator, and the champion, because those are three different readers.
Local Houston depth became a moat
Houston has real specialization: energy, industrial, medical, legal, aerospace, ports and logistics. Agencies that know how a Houston buying committee behaves will outperform national generalists on money keywords. That is why the top three on this list all have local operations and a decade or more inside a single vertical.
How much do the best SEO agencies in Houston cost
Published survey data gives a floor, not a quote.
Ahrefs surveyed 439 SEO professionals for its pricing study and reported an average agency retainer near $3,209 a month, with agency hourly rates around $99. Clutch’s 2026 marketplace data lands almost identically at $3,199 a month, with one-time projects averaging $37,158. SE Ranking’s 2025 survey of 260 agencies found roughly 70% of agencies had raised prices or planned to, with AI search work the leading reason.
Those averages skew low for B2B. They include local service SEO at a few hundred dollars a month. Competitive B2B verticals like SaaS, fintech, legal, and healthcare sit at the top of the range, because the content requires genuine expertise and the deals are worth more.
For reference, Enlimited’s published engagements run $2,000 to $50,000+ per month depending on scope and stage, with most clients landing near $5,000. Enlimited works month to month with 30 days written notice and no twelve-month lock-in. Ad spend is managed separately from the fee. Other Houston agencies on this list vary: TopSpot, EWR Digital, and Regex SEO publish little pricing publicly, Astoundz and Funnel Boost Media market month-to-month contracts, and Authority Solutions publishes an hourly range of $150 to $199 on Clutch.
Below roughly $1,500 a month a buyer is usually purchasing templated output: syndicated content, generic link-building, and reporting dashboards no one reads. That can work for a single-location local business. For a B2B account with a $30,000+ ACV and a five-person buying committee, it is closer to a marketing tax than a growth investment.
How to choose between the best SEO agencies in Houston in 5 steps
Use this checklist on discovery calls with any Houston SEO agency. A longer version is available in Enlimited’s guide on how to hire a digital marketing agency.
Ask for two recent B2B case studies with real numbers. Pipeline, qualified opportunity rate, closed revenue. Not traffic charts. If the client name is hidden, ask why.
Get a proposed 90-day plan in writing. If it reads like a template, that is the answer. Push for month-by-month clarity on what gets built and what gets measured.
Confirm who actually does the work. Ask for the strategist’s name, the SEO lead’s name, and their LinkedIn profiles. Then ask how many other accounts they carry.
Test their AI search plan. Ask how they get the buyer cited in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and AI Overviews, and how they will report it. Vague answers here are the clearest red flag on this list.
Read the contract twice. Look for auto-renewal, IP ownership, minimum term, and exit terms. If the buyer cannot leave inside 30 days when performance stalls, negotiate before signing.
